100 Women Who Care Gives $10,000 Toward Suicide Prevention
GOSHEN — Leslie Weirich is working to offer young people tools. She wants them to be resilient, to hold on to hope during tough times. A $10,000 grant from 100 Women Who Care will help Weirich reach students in two Elkhart County schools for the coming three years. At the last meeting of the giving circle in January, 100 Women Who Care selected to support Suicide Prevention Work through Leslie’s Hope and the Oaklawn Foundation to offer training to students in Elkhart County schools. Community Foundation congratulates 2022 Lilly Endowment Community Scholars and Guy David Gundlach Memorial Scholars
December 21, 2021 Eight Elkhart County students are being honored with significant scholarships. Three students from Elkhart County will receive the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarships (LECS) which provide for full tuition, required fees and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and required equipment for four years of undergraduate study on a full-time basis leading to a baccalaureate degree at any eligible Indiana public or private nonprofit college or university. Monday, September 27, 2021 ELKHART — The Community Foundation of Elkhart County promoted Carrie Berghoff to become Chief Development Officer for the organization. Her promotion from Donor Engagement Specialist is part of changes within the organization that continues to grow and now has assets of more than $400 million.
